Banding

Banding is the wrong kind of gradient, consisting of two or more lines of the same color, but of different brightness (value). It's better to use HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) color mode when working with gradients. You can switch RGB/HSV color modes in Color Picker. By the way, Pixel Studio has Gradient tool to draw right gradients.
